New Translator, Signing In

Post by AberrantWolf on Thu May 23, 2013 12:35 pm

Hey, everyone. I've agreed to work on the translation for Hatsukiai. It's only the two volumes, so I hope to be able to make pretty regular progress until it's completed.

It's nice to meet all of you. Smile

Uhm... so I guess I'll be a little more introductory, since saying, "Hi, I'm a translator" is a bit underwhelming.

I'm an introvert -- hence the short intro. Not used to just volunteering stuff to strangers. Not against it, it just doesn't occur to me sometimes. >_<

Also (and you can see this over on the side) I'm a bit older than your average manga fan. I spent a while in school and finished my degree in Japanese a couple years ago. Since then I've been working as a mobile game designer. But I really like what people do with regard to translating the books and shows that they like but aren't made available by professional groups, so I want to throw my hand in. Smile

I'm a super geek, meaning that I geek out about a really wide variety of things. Manga and anime (of course), video games (obvious), but also music, writing, art, philosophy, nature (camping, hiking), sewing/costuming, dancing, singing. I do just a million different things, and now I can add fan translation to the list!

My favorite manga are Yotsuba& and Azumanga Daioh... so I guess my favorite manga-ka is Azuma Kiyohiko be default. So when I started reading Hatsukiai, I was really drawn into it. I love little endearing slice of life stories like this, so I'm really happy to be able to work on it.

This is my first translation project, so I hope everyone will be patient with me while I figure out the best way to do my part.

Oops, I got started writing and wrote too much! Sorry, that happens sometimes. Razz

Anyway, again, nice to meet you all. (^_^)v
